Charlotte Nesbitt Named Executive Director of Park Manor

Nashville, Tenn. (March 28, 2008) — Charlotte Nesbitt of Nashville, Tenn. has been named executive director of Park Manor Apartments, an independent living senior community with concierge services in Nashville, Tenn.

Serving the Middle Tennessee Region, Park Manor Apartments provides affordable accommodations and meals in a retirement living setting for approximately 126 senior residents, ages 55-plus. The seven-story complex includes 120 units and is located on seven-plus acres on Woodmont Boulevard in Belle Meade.

With over 40 years of facilities and social services management experience, Ms. Nesbitt previously served as director of programs & services for XMi Social Enterprises, a division of XMi (xmi.us.com), a 22-year-old Nashville-based management company. There, she was involved in company initiatives to establish and organize a newly-founded, not-for-profit corporation named Abe’s Garden which recently acquired Park Manor.

Ms. Nesbitt will have a dual role in serving as project development director for Abe’s Garden during the development stages of its initiative to add state-of-the-art facilities and programs focused on Alzheimer’s and dementia to the Park Manor campus.

Prior to her affiliation with XMi, Ms. Nesbitt served as founder and executive director of the Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village (SIRYV), a not-for-profit 188-bed residential youth facility, located in Vincennes, Indiana. During her tenure at SIRYV, the facility received national recognition as facility of the year for its programs and services in serving more than 10,000 youth. Additionally, Ms. Nesbitt has received many achievement awards during her professional career, including the E.R. Cass Achievement Award for her excellence in service, professional integrity, and innovative leadership in helping youth.

Ms. Nesbitt holds both a master’s degree and bachelor’s degree in the field of social services.

Park Manor has served seniors in Davidson County, Tenn. for the past 45 years. It is owned and operated by Abe’s Garden, a Tennessee not-for-profit corporation headquartered in Nashville, Tenn. that is focusing its development and fund-raising efforts on creating a place to serve those with Alzheimer’s and dementia in a community allowing for “aging in place”. Abe’s Garden acquired Park Manor in January 2008 from the Presbyterian Apartments, Inc.

The mission of Abe’s Garden is to develop a master planned community with state-of-the-art facilities and programs for aging in place, with a focus on Alzheimer’s and dementia. Using the remaining acreage of Park Manor, all phases of senior living are planned to be located in this one community, offering a full continuum of care, namely independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and memory care services.
